First you have to make a slit all around at the right distance from the edge. There are a variety of options for this. You can either use an angle grinder or an edge cutter, but you can also do it quickly with a spade. The slot does not need to be particularly wide. Then insert the boundary wire into the laying aid and quickly pull the laying aid through the resulting slot. The boundary wire unrolls itself from the roll. Finally, close the slot by simply stepping on it.
