This mechanical edge tester is a simple but effective tool for the "ancratch" on the milling machine. If you are looking for the zero point on a workpiece, clamp the edge probe into the drill chuck or the chuck of the milling cutter. Then turn on the router. The speed is not important for this type of corner switch, you can always stay at the speed that is currently set. Now, carefully approach the workpiece, as soon as the ball bearing stops, you are 5mm (diameter ball bearing 10mm: 2 = 5mm) before the zero point of your workpiece.
The edge selector is only used to zero the X and Y axes to zero the Z axis. The shaft is hardened and should be damaged after a collision times the ball bearing, you will find in our shop also replacement.
