Pedalmaschine
Durch die auf- und ab Bewegung eines Fingers wir wird bei der Pedalmaschine das Pedal betätigt und die Maschine zum Leben erweckt. Die Maschine wird durch betätigen des Antriebspedals mit dem Finger in Bewegung gehalten.
Die Pedalmaschine wird im englischen finger engine genannt. Im deutschsprachigem ist diese Art der Maschine noch weitgehend unbekannt.
Sie erinnert vom Aufbau an den Antrieb früher hergestellter, manuell angetriebener Nähmaschinen.
Die Maschine ist im Aufbau recht einfach gestaltet, so das man dieses Modell innerhalb von ca. 6 Stunden zusammen bauen kann. Das fertige Modell eignet sich zum Stressabbau am Schreibtisch oder zur Bekämpfung von Langeweile.
Die Pedal und Stützkonstruktion besteht aus Messing, das oben angesetzte Schwungrad ist aus Stahlguss.
Als Grundplatte dient eine Holzplatte aus edlem Eiche. Dieses Holz verleiht der aufmontierten Maschine ihren hohen technischen Charme und den edlen Charakter.
In der Firma Bengs-Modellbau trägt die Pedalmaschine den Namen „Empire“ und wird auch unter diesem Namen weltweit vermarktet.
